Ecology Disaster.

I have been carrying around this article Slaughter of barred owls ethical? by Nuala Bishar. Hunters are after barred owls because they say they are not native to these parts in California. However, an environment may wax and wane. Just like Darwin's Finches population of finches changed from one period to the next depending on food sources available!

Maybe for the barred owl its an overgrowth of mice that are the attraction--or maybe they come from a lack of it! Whatever it is--they eat, they hunt bubonic plague carriers!

So why is the federal government, once again, playing God? You further mess with the natural ecosystem you are going to end up with an explosion of its prey. And thus, possibly, a New Black Plague!

Quit manipulating with the ecology of a place--unless its an invasive species from another land--like blue flax. Federal agents are now tasked with removing blue flax. And leave those mustangs alone--they didn't hurt a soul!

I believe this situation to be proof that the federal government personnel is uneducated in the fields they operate in.
