"Brutal heat wave set to obliterate records

by Jill Tucker and Carolyn Stein"  First, I would like to note why does this article need to double dip with two authors?  They report on an "excessive heat warnings" but give no solutions?  Are there any cooling centers around town?  Is it true they are shutting down shelters--for all they photographed were the homeless for this article but we all very well know the elderly are very susceptible to heat conditions--as well.

One way Los Gatos likes to deal with the heat for the homeless is to suggest the local library is the "cooling center" and therefore, doesn't have to provide motel rooms for the homeless in inclement weather!  What happened to that funding?  How is it being distributed?  Hmmm...?

There are three cooling centers listed on the internet for San Jose.  We can do better than that!  Oh yeah, the article's recommendation was to keep pets and people out of hot cars and keep hydrated...
