I have never had a dog. I lived with a dog for a year that hated and wanted to eat my cat! I appreciate dogs. I love learning breeds. But, you can't just go out and pick a dog out by it's looks! Which dog breed is good for you?
I am going to be very basic because I don't have the knowledge or the familiarity with different breeds!
Small dogs: Lap dogs! They have small little legs and they love to be by your side. They are not a guard dog or an exercise machine. They prefer to be carried and get worn out otherwise!
Examples: Yorkshire Terrier, Westland Highland Terrier, Chihauhau, Pomeranian, Shih Tzu
Medium dogs: Not as needy as in attached to you? Easy on the couch and your bed. Less to feed than a big dog. I don't know...I want a dog in-between a medium and a small dog!
Examples: Beagle, Jack Russel Terrier, German Wire Hair Dachsund, English Corgi
Big Dogs: Takes up half the couch and bed. Eats a lot. Typically, needs more exercise and more food! Ha, ha.
Examples: Labrador (good water dog), Golden Retriever, Malamute, Neopolitan Mastiff
Now, I have been a little silly with this--but it is true I love meeting you and your dog! I hope I inspire someone to write a handbook on dog breeds and their typical (over-generalized) personalities!
