What Was I Running From?

I ran away from home at least three times under the age of three. The earliest being two years old: I ran down the road with no shoes. I saw neighbors, I had hid behind a car's tire. They seemed to have company. They came and picked me up. Took me inside and washed my feet. The police were called. I told them I was going to get a free cookie at Albertson's.
