The Governmental Crime On Visual Artists

I have touched base on this subject before with Dorothea Lange and John Muir. Both photographers they worked for the government! Not a good situation. The government gave them materials and equipment to photograph the Dust Bowl for Dorothea Lange and John Muir was the one who discovered and documented landscapes for National Parks--and for their efforts the government took ownership of all their images! Both have had their artistry stripped from them. They have no rights or royalties to their creative vision and genius...

Now, why I am I bringing this up again? For Ansel Adams. Adams worked for the government as well and with gorgeous landscapes photographs. Working with a large format, glass negative camera. He hiked with pack animals in the back country in an effort to document God's wonders and the ultimate shots of the American landscape. You can see his images in a San Francisco exhibit, but what should really be done is something else. These artists have been raped of their artistry and kept poor. Not even their offspring can see unreleased images or get prints! The "Ansel Adams Publishing Rights Trust/Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco" is who benefits from the sale and museum goers--not the artist!
