That lead to the back bedroom.

A hallway at most,

For a girl to lay,

On two boards,

Elevated above the floor.

Two boards that would separate,

If you moved around.

I assured my mother I would be okay,

I assured my mother not to worry away...

My blanket and boards,

Is what I had for a week.

Until a mattress showed up!
