Stepping Stones

Stepping away from church as a teenager was just what I did. I finished Confirmation class and moved on. For three reasons:

1. There was a Rabbi in a couple of the classes in his traditional garb!

2. The pastor told our congregation that women could not teach men!

3. Half the congregation left--me too.

I felt, if I wanted to be with God, I could go into nature and possibly meditate. I often went hiking and into the woods, but did I meditate? --No. Should I? Maybe...
