Selfie

I loved the Continuing Education Class Mixed Media Portraiture at Maine College of Art (MECA). Every assignment was a self portrait! I don't mind making self portraits on paper but I do despise making a photographic selfie! In a self portrait on paper there's enough ambiguity and play but in a photographic selfie (or self portrait) I feel annoyed to have to take a photo of myself!

There is one self portrait I did with a gold and blue background that needs some explaining. The assignment was "to put yourself in a famous painting". I chose a Gustav Klimt painting. It was mostly gold background with some crazy hands. I chose to detail the image and change the background some.
