The Ring of Fire is a string of volcanic activity bordering the Pacific Ocean and the near land masses. All along western North America, to eastern Asia, the Phillipines, New Zealand, back to western South America and Antartica--they all have plate tectonic activity--earthquakes and volcanoes.
"Roughly 90% of all earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire, and the ring is dotted with 75% of all volcanoes on Earth. (education.nationalgeographic.org)
