Mysterious Musicians At Starbuck's

Yesterday morning I was sitting at Starbuck's wondering who I was listening to? Sometimes the artistry sounds familiar but at other times it seems to be a no-name singer. I wrote down my notes and pondered if the artists could even be found on the app "Shazam"? Who is behind the music--songwriters and producers make the magic--it's not all done by the singer!

One used to be able to buy music CDs at Starbuck's--I acquired a couple myself! WOMAD came to Marymoore Park in Redmond, WA and I participated...and I had purchased a couple of various artists world music CDs as it made the experience more familiar.

Then came the single song selections from Starbuck's that I didn't participate in...

Does Starbuck's have its own music production so that it can avoid royalty fees to musicians?
