Shared rooms, typically 2 persons but sometimes up to 4 persons
no TV in rooms--despite it being a suggestion for coping skills
hospitals take away your cell phone! (Bastards!)
One community phone per, say about, 20 persons (with no privacy)
Food not prepared by a trained/educated culinary person! (they believe margarine is healthier than butter!--it clogs your arteries...)
In the Day Room, people argue about to watch on TV
People DIE in mental hospitals
Think about it...when you stay in the regular hospital you often have your own room with a TV, call light and a phone! what's the cost difference between types of hospitals? And why is it that coping mechanisms are taken away from you like music on your phone, contacts to talk to, and television? Often times, there is nothing but blood, guts, and guns on the Day Room tele and it makes some uncomfortable--so you resort to your room and you are deemed "unsocialable"! What if you are an introvert and you need your time alone?!!!

P.S. There are both good and evil people with mental illness and it looks different on everybody. Nobody's experience is the same! Movies are slanted and not really understand the illness.
