Light Up The Stars!

Have you ever looked up at the sky at night and wondered "Where have all the stars gone?". It's quite a blank canvas at night here in California. Less populated areas show a beautiful arrangement of stars including the Big and Little Dippers constellations--among others if you can read and identify on a star chart. It could be a great family vacation to seek out our galaxy--the Milky Way!
So, why don't we see the mass amount of stars in more populated areas? It's because of light pollution! In some areas towns they implement light ordinances which limit the type of outdoor lighting you may have for a good purpose!
light pol·lu·tion /līt pəˈlo͞oSHən/
noun
brightening of the night sky caused by street lights and other man-made sources, which has a disruptive effect on natural cycles and inhibits the observation of stars and planets. "for many astronomers light pollution has been a disaster"
So, you can see here the definition of light pollution. One of its affects is the "disruption of natural cycles". I can only imagine this to be ecological cycles including the mating, sleeping and daily activities of its inhabitants. I am sure the ecological environment and it's inhabitants is slowly and some more rapidly going through evolution through its environmental changes! Maybe new species will be evolved and maybe some will die off. What's it to you? Well, I think control of light pollution and sky glow is best for all!
