A brand new holiday for all to celebrate with the black community is Juneteenth! It's a paid bank holiday, made official in the past couple of years, and it occurs on June 19th of every year. It celebrates Emancipation Proclamation freeing African slaves in the United States. Juneteenth is nothing new. It was first celebrated in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1866. The bill was passed in 1863. Not everybody was informed until 1865. And in 2021 we observe it for all to recognize the freeing of black slaves.
Now, it is time to clean the books of all those apartheid rules and laws discriminating against the black community in honor of Juneteenth!
