I grew up in South Seattle near a little seaside town called Burien. It doesn't look like much. But it has good qualities. There are venues like the Australian Pie Company, Classic Eats, Burien Press and Huckleberry Square. It is full of small blue collar worker homes and larger homes that line the coast.
The Puget Sound is a protected body of water by the large peninsula which is home to the Olympic National Rainforest--it's temperate and I have yet to investigate its canopies. It is known for rain and Seattle too--I don't mind it with a good cup of coffee and a warm home to do as I please.
Summers are beautiful with mostly blue skies--beach volleyball at Alki Beach in nearby West Seattle, free roaming through the Seattle Sculpture Garden put on by the Seattle Art Museum, and a newly designed waterfront!
Winters are more dreary. Overcast and cool ready for that writer to get busy in his/her den drink their vice and smoke sweet black tobacco (stops me in my tracks everytime!). Coffee shops abound. Art in its veins. And music in its soul.
