Favorite Leather Jacket

I remember the day I bought my favorite leather jacket. It was a Seattle fall day, and a thrift store visit was on my mind. I popped into a second hand store in a small town just south of Seattle. The selection was sparse! I looked around anyways, peering at the selection on the racks. Limited on my funds I was being weary.
I found it. My purchase. A vintage 1970's cognac men's leather blazer jacket. It was thick, comfortable and equipped with a tear on the left lapel. I needed it anyways. Circa 1996 (at that time it was still grunge attire in Seattle!). I bocked at the price--$14.00. What? (I know, such a deal.)
It accompanied me through anthropology school--pairing it with my loosely ripped jeans and equally abused platform cognac short boots. I loved them all.
The jacket even came with me to Ketchum, Idaho; a ski resort town in the Rocky Mountains. I worked multiple jobs to pay-off those pesky school loans and an old car. One day we ended up at the Cellar and we hung out and drank our beer outside. The sun was shining. And this time I was with a group. I insisted my fellow bar goer to try on my favorite leather jacket. It fit and he looked good in it!
And that was the day I decided my favorite leather jacket could accompany someone else--he was moving to San Francisco and I thought he could make good use of it. Maybe not an everyday jacket for him; but maybe a party gag piece! I wonder if I will meet another leather jacket like that one or see him again?
