One of the things I learned in the Wood River Valley is that firefighters need a helping hand! What do I mean by that? They are there to service the community when dire needs arise but also in everyday matters occur. They respond to 911 calls often before anyone else. They prep the EMT and the police on those situations. But what you may not know; is that they may be priced out of the communities they service! They cannot afford a living space and have to travel long distances to get to work thus making quality of life less!
In the Wood River Valley they supply firefighters with housing at the fire stations (or nearby). What I see in Los Gatos, California is a dated 1950's mid-century modern one story fire station that needs a rebuild! Build up and supply some apartments to those well-intended everyday heroes. Remember, that young child that wanted to grow up and become a firefighter and follow his (or her) dreams!
Hey! Where is that sexy calendar of local fire fighters for a fundraiser?
