I grew up with a Cambodian family that was Buddhist. And the mother had a shrine! I went to a Cambodian traditional wedding; in traditional garb and ate traditional food. I may have been young; but my eyes were full. I know Cambodians love their gold jewelry and they compared and contrasted at the wedding. What does gold do for you? Did you know metals have energy that can affect your own? Gold is healing. Wear it if you can! Costume jewelry maybe flattering but you may want to save up for something with power!
In contrast, my parents were hippies. They met at a se'ance and thus me and my brothers were born! I was a vegetarian as a baby but soon something changed my mother's mind to reintroduce meat into her diet and ours too...
For vacations we vehicle camped. My father had a jacked up TravelAll red vehicle with large tires! It was nicknamed the Jungle Jumper by my acquaintances. We often had a green canoe on top in later years. We grew up poor. I told myself at seven years old if you want something done--you'd better do it yourself. My father was a Parks and Recreation person who did janitorial duties and lined fields. My mother worked at a bank and later at a grocery store deli.
When I was in high school I know my father dropped out of his high school and my mother didn't go to college (at that point!). I was determined I would go to college! I did this by school loans. I have a two-year degree with studies in Interior Design, a four-year degree in Anthropology and a four-year degree in Fine Art where I majored in Photography.
I have lived in Seattle, Washington (where I grew up), Wood River Valley (Sun Valley), Idaho, and Portland/Freeport, Maine. Now, I am getting acquainted with California. Would I say I am done with school? --I doubt it! :)
