Antibodies are given to the baby from the mother through breast feeding. If you are not able to breast feed due to concerns like medication, then no worries you may have someone else breast feed your baby, however, do worry! --disease is rampant and you never know what the person is a carrier of--it could be HIV/AIDS, syphillis, hepatitis...the possibilities are endless.
Unfortunately, someone may not know they are a carrier and may look healthy--don't let looks deceive you! Antibodies won't ward off the disease or illness if you are given the dibiliating disease like HIV/AIDS!
Antibodies at the time of a baby are nice. But staying free and clear of disease and illness is even better! Take my final advice...wait till the child develops antibodies of their own!
